Oh beautiful soda bottles, on the surface it may have looked like I had forsaken you. However, that is not the case at all. I think the last projects that needed your presence were the diy hanging soda bottle planter and the diy plastic soda bottle drip feeder. Well, you will be glad to know that today we will be looking at these diy soda bottle mini greenhouse.
Although we you can probably find hundreds of diy greenhouse designs, most of them are large and meant for more than one plant. This particular one is a ‘mini’ version which can be used to provide a greenhouse environment for one or two plants only. It is an affordable project, since you are reusing soda bottles that would otherwise have found their way to a land fill. It should not take you more than 10 minutes to set up one of these.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 2L soda bottles with labels intact
- Phillips head screwdriver
- duct or masking tape
- utility knife
- utility scissors
On the first bottle you want to remove the top section using the label as your guide. The second bottle has its top removed but this time you cut about a quarter inch into the neck of the bottle. All that is left to do is to make sure that your greenhouse has enough drainage holes on the bottom. Once you have made sure that everything fits together, you can add your growing medium and the plants.
