DIY Single Wheel Bicycle Trailer

Every now and again I run into these interesting things, that I feel I just gotta try. The last such project was the diy bucket bladeless fan . It may not seem so practical but nevertheless, I felt the urge to give it a try. The next project will be this diy single wheel bicycle trailer.

I like this particular design, because compared to the other designs this one is pretty simple. Also it looks like I can reuse a lot of the materials, so that will cut the cost of project. Truth be told, I will probably trick the hubby into helping with this one too. I tend to do that a lot don’t I?

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • old small children bicycle
  • plywood
  • wood screws
  • bolts
  • hand drill
  • framing brackets
  • wood paint (optional)

The cargo frame will need to be constructed from some plywood, its basically a few boards held together to create a trailer. Then it’s bolted onto to the fork from the old children’s bicycle. Next move on to the tongue at the front which attached to the hitch.

The sides are optional, but I think we will add some which are deeper. Your trailer will need some support legs, to help support it when stationary or loading. These go on either side of the tongue. Last but definitely not least, is the hitch construction. If you have some paint, you can paint your trailer too.
