DIY Giant Crochet Rug

There will always somewhere in your home, where you can place one of these. I know quite a lot of people enjoyed the post on the homemade old towel bath mat and I never thought I could top that one. Until I lay my eyes on and fell in love with this diy giant crochet rug.

Unlike other giant crocheted rug patterns, this one gives you the option to either use yarn or fabric. Wool is obviously going to be more expensive that cutting strips of fabric and using those to make your rug. I really appreciate the step by step video that comes with the pattern. It makes the whole process a whole lot easier, especially if you are a beginner when it comes to crocheting.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • wool roving or fabric trips
  • stitch holder (optional)
  • scissors

Although we won’t be using a crochet hook, we will be following a crochet pattern. The rug is basically a spiral of continuing single crochet rounds. However, each round is not complete therefore extra effort and concentration is required to keep track of where each one ends. Six stitches are added to each one, and you will have to weave all the ends. Guess what? You can make this rug as big as you want, it is completely up to you.
