If you are an avid vegetable gardener, I am sure at some point you have noticed fungus growing on the leaves of your plants. I am already making use of homemade solutions such as the homemade bug spray for gardens and the homemade natural garden ant killer in my garden. Last year I discovered this diy fungicide spray, that takes care of the fungus problem.
The most common type of fungus that usually shows up in gardens is the powdery mildew. It usually wants to attack your cucumbers, squash, pumpkins, and watermelon. This simple 3 ingredient solution will help you control it as well as protect your plants. In order to keep it organic and natural, make sure you use biodegradable soap especially one that does not contain phosphates.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- baking soda
- mild soap
- water
- empty spray bottle
- mixing bowl
I usually just measure out all the ingredients and add them to a bowl or container. After mixing them well, I then transfer the solution to a spray bottle. Before and during use, you should always give the bottle a good shake. When spraying make sure that you spray both sides of any affected leaves as well as all the smaller leaves that may seem unaffected at the time.
