You don’t have to be in a pickle, for you to to learn how to quick pickle cucumbers. Ha, ha, haaa I know that was a bit cheesy, unfortunately that was the best I could come up with. So you have grown your cucumbers in your garden or maybe even in 5 gallon plastic buckets. Besides, making a healthy salad, here’s something else you could try.
Actually, of all the different ways that you can preserve cucumbers, this is probably my favorite one. It helps of course that is a simple process that takes less than 30 minutes to complete. You know those mini cucumbers, right? I wonder if you could pickle them too? That is now definitely something that I wanna try soon. However, for today let’s get to pickling, shall we?
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- cucumbers
- garlic cloves
- pink peppercorns
- cider vinegar
- salt
- agave syrup
- water
- sharp knife
- cutting board
- preserving jars
- small bowl
Especially if you just harvested your cucumbers from your garden, make sure that you wash and dry them. The cucumbers are then sliced, and layered into the jars. The salt, vinegar and syrup are used to make a special picking sauce, which is added to the jars. The water is perfect for topping up the jars before screwing on the lids. The hardest part is having to wait at least a day or so, before enjoying the contents. It’s torture, I tell you! LOL
