Firstly you have to understand what causes them to crack. Well surprise surprise for the most part it is actually the plant receiving too much water, too fast. This leads to the fruit expanding at a rapid rate and the skin not being able to match the expansion rate.

2. Water evenly throughout the tomato growing season.

3. Do not over fertilize your tomato plants.

4. Apply a balanced fertilizer.

5. Cover with mulch after the plant becomes established.

It does not matter if your tomatoes get radial or concentric cracks, you can still enjoy them if you pick them before any infection can set in.
