I have been growing green beans before many years now and I always have to have them in my garden. It is a bit late this season, but next year I want to try growing grandpa’s pole beans.
Why are they called Grandpa’s pole beans? Well they have been in the family of the producers for over 50 years now, as far back as their great grand father. These are heirloom pole beans.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- grandpa’s pole beans seeds
- wood trellis or poles
- compost
- organic fertilizer
When spring time arrives and the soil is warm enough, it is time to plant your seeds directly into the one inch deep ground. Make sure you plant in fertile soil, in an area that receives a lot of sunshine.
Do not forget to install the trellis or some sort of support that will be tall enough to support these pole beans that can grow up to 7 feet tall. They can be eaten fresh, or you can freeze or can them.
