So today I run into Judy a very nice old lady. Well we didn’t really run into each other but I ran into a post she made on how she built her on DIY Wood Pallet Chicken Coop.
Now this project requires you to have access to a lot of wood pallets, she used over 200 of them. She is lucky she lives next to a vinyl siding company they tend to have a lot of those lying around.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- wood pallets
- wood screws or nails
- hand drill
- circular saw
- wall studs
- plyboards
- vinyl siding
- level
The first step is usually the reason why most people do not like pallet projects. She had to dismantle all the pallets before she could begin the project. Amazingly at her age she did most of the work herself whilst her husband watched.
The floor is the first to go down, followed by the walls, the sides and eventually the roof. To give it a slick new look, they used vinyl siding on the outside of the coop. It looks like a lot of work but the end result is beautiful and functional.
