This would probably be of more use to someone with a limited space for gardening, than for us. However, I should admit that just like our diy planter, this will probably look just as good on our front porch. Are you ready to look into how to build this diy vertical clay pot garden?
The advantages of using this design include the ability to use different size clay pots from large to small. You do not have to worry about it falling apart as it is pretty well reinforced from the ground. Also once you are done with it or the season is over, you can disassemble it and store it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- terracotta pots
- pressure treated lumber
- jig and pocket screws
- power miter saw
- threaded rods
- nuts and washers
- four prong t-nuts
- framing square
- drill
- garden towel
- connector straps
- garden gloves
- hammer
- pliers
- potting mix
- young plants
The project requires you to start off by building your base. Then making sure you have the holes to connect your extensions. Then you drill the holes for the threaded rods before inserting them into their slots. The washers are also put into place to keep the rods in place.
Next we move on to the clay pots, which you must drill the 3 holes in the bottom. One in the middle is for the threaded rod, the other two are for drainage. Add the support flanges, then the pots and them finally you make sure you reinforce the pots before filling them up with potting soil and planting your plants.
