Fall weather is slowly sneaking up on us, the last few days the temperatures have dipped quite a bit. Anywho, do you remember the post I made a while back on how to build a diy container water garden? That is still growing strong by the way. However, I have been thinking of building this diy indoor water garden too.
Truth be told, this looks more like an aquarium than a garden. On top of that you can add fish into the mix too. First of all, you have to build the ‘garden’ then you can add your favorite fish and they will watch over your garden. You also have a choice when it comes to the plants that you plant in your garden. I love having choices, don’t you?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- glass jar
- small aquarium stones
- live plants
- fresh water conditioner for aquariums
- betta fish or any other fresh water fish
- water
- net
- colander
- accessories
- distilled vinegar
Before getting started make sure you give the jar and the gravel a good rinse. It is recommended that you use both water and vinegar. With everything clean, you can then go ahead and arrange your layer of gravel at the bottom of the jar. A few inches of gravel should do the trick.
The plants and any accessories go in next. I think we will have the Red Luwigia, Anubias barteri and Cryptocorynr wendtii in our garden. May add Marino Moss Balls too, but probably at a later date. The water and the conditioner will complete the garden. That’s a basic overview of the whole process…
