The Best Baked Beans Recipe

I know, I know when you see something with the word ‘best’ in the title, we often have some level of doubt in our minds. This is why I try to use that word sparingly on this blog, for even when I featured the best burger seasoning recipe. This baked beans recipe, is amazing you absolutely have to try it.

This one is really hearty, there is a whole lot of wholesome ingredients that go into it. If you do not like anything on the list, feel free to exclude it when making your version. I throw in my homemade versions for the sauces and bacon, it does not get any healthier than that. I use beans from our garden too, and mix in some pork in there, instead of the canned beans.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • ground beef
  • chopped onion
  • green or red pepper
  • pork and beans
  • barbecue sauce
  • ketchup
  • spicy brown mustard
  • worcestershire sauce
  • soy sauce
  • brown sugar
  • bacon
  • cooking spray
  • baking sheet
  • large saucepan
  • casserole dish
  • aluminum foil

The oven needs to be preheated to 350 degrees F. Brown and cook the beef in your large saucepan, add the peppers and the onions, then drain the mixture when the beef is done. The veggies should be soft too, before you can add everything else except for the bacon.

Allow the mixture to simmer for at least 5 minutes, before you transfer to your casserole dish. Before covering the dish with some aluminum foil, sprinkle some bacon pieces on top. Initially bake for at least 40 minutes, then you remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes. The dish is ready to serve after you allow it to sit for 10 minutes. This recipe serves up to 12 people.
