DIY Wood Pallet Sofa

Are you ready for yet another awesome wood pallet project? I do not believe we can ever make too many of these. I had so much fun with the diy wood pallet outdoor bar and the diy wood pallet bench, so I have no doubt in my mind that building this diy wood pallet sofa is going to provide hours of fun too.

Although you have to pry out the individual boards from the pallets, this is still a relatively easy project. The measurements are not important, you simply just work with what you have to make sure that at the very least you have a sturdy structure to hold your sofa together. Most of the materials for this project should be re-purposed, except many the deck screws.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • old futon mattress
  • miter saw
  • wood pallet
  • deck wood
  • lumber
  • deck screws
  • wood screws
  • hand drill
  • sandpaper
  • tape measure
  • safety googles
  • pencil
  • wood stain (optional)
  • gloves (optional)

The futon mattress you find, is what you will use for measurements. It has it is deep and reach up to your inner thigh, when you are seated on your sofa. Once you have your measurements you can then go ahead and build the actual frame. Don’t forget to include center supports for your base.

The boards from the pallets are used to build the base as well as the back rest. The wood screws hold everything together. It is recommended that all the boards are sanded too, before you attach them into their permanent position. Also if your patio is not protected, then you may want to stain the wood too.
