DIY Wood Pallet Garden Walkway

I believe that just because you live off grid or on a homestead in the middle of nowhere, it does not mean you cannot enjoy the ‘finer’ things in life. That is why we have taken on projects like the diy wood fired hot tub and the diy wood pallet sofa. The other day I found this diy wood pallet garden walkway idea.

Wood pallet projects are not only fun but usually dirt cheap for us, as we get our pallets for free. However, often times I loathe having to dismantle the wood pallets before you can then repurpose the wood. This is only because it can be a tedious, time consuming process.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • wood pallets
  • crowbar
  • shovel
  • wheel barrow
  • wood stainer (optional)
  • wood paint (optional)

Depending on the length of your pathway, you will probably need a few pallets. Carefully dismantle your pallets using your crowbar or preferred tool. Pile all your boards in one area. Next you want to clear the area where you walkway will be established. Use the shovel to dig and remove a few inches of the soil in that area.

If you prefer, you can paint or stain your board before using them to construct your walkway. I personally love the rustic look, therefore I will leave mine as is. Lay each board the full length of your walkway, leaving about half an inch of space in between each board. Take some of the soil you removed earlier on, and use it to fill in the spaces in between your boards. That’s it you are done! 🙂
