How To Grow Radish Sprouts

Ok, I have finally accepted the fact that this years growing season is done. However, I refuse to stop growing stuff so I am moving indoors. LOL. Although I enjoy container gardening such as growing kale in containers and growing okra in containers. How about we try something different today, like how to grow radish sprouts.

There are a few different radish varieties and you can sprout all their seeds. You could do them in separate batches, but I think mixing them up would be fun. Especially when you see the different colors after they have sprouted. Since I have started sprouting more seeds, I made the wise decision of actually purchasing four easy sprouters. They make my life so much easier.

  • easy sprouter
  • water

Alright, the most important thing before you begin is to make sure that you soak your seeds for at least 12 hours, preferably over night. After that you have to thoroughly rinse the seeds and then making sure you drain them well. This process is repeated every 8 to 12 hours until harvest, which is usually in about 5 to 6 days.

On the third day you can move the sprouter to a location that gets indirect sunlight. The yield ratio is roughly 2:1, you get 2 pounds of sprouts from one pound of seeds. For a continuous supply, simply set up a new sprouter every single day for about a week. Then every time you harvest, you soak more seeds to replace the harvested sprouts.
