Peppers are one of those vegetables that can be thrown into anything. I use them in in my stews, stir fries, salads, baking and even grilling. Learning how to grow peppers in your own garden, would not be such a bad idea now, would it?
There are many different varieties of peppers you can grow, as well as different colors. Some varieties only grow in certain zones only. Bell peppers are probably the easiest to grow.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- green pepper seeds or seedlings
- compost
- organic fertilizer
- container (optional)
You have the option of starting your peppers from seeds or plants. If you choose seeds, they should take about 10 days to germinate. Plant your peppers in soil with good drainage and in an area that receives a lot of sunshine.
Most peppers will be ready for harvest between 50 to 70 days. It is recommended that you use garden shears when harvesting and only harvest as you need. If you have a shortage of space, you can grow peppers in containers too.
