This is probably the most popular soup out there in the universe. It only makes sense that instead of buying it one would want to know how to make homemade chicken noodle soup, doesn’t it?
What I love about this recipe is that even the noodles are homemade. However for some strange reason she opts for cans of chicken broth. Instead, I would make this homemade chicken broth instead.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- chicken broth
- water
- cooked shredded rotisserie chicken
- cooked sliced carrots
- diced celery stalks
- oregano
- rosemary
- basil
- cooked homemade egg noodles
- salt or pepper
- large stock pan
You are going to have to make your homemade egg noodles and cook them first before you can use them for the chicken noodle soup. Please refer to the linked recipe above for directions.
When the noodles are ready you can then start making your soup. Starting with a 20 minute simmer of all the ingredients except the noodles in your stock pan. Then you add the noodles and leaving everything to simmer for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
Total cooking time is about 30 to 35 minutes. You can place any left over soup in an air tight container and store in your freezer.
