OMG! These are so cute, what makes them even cuter is that they are made from re-purposed pallet wood. The last pallet project we did was a bit complicated, it was the diy wood pallet boat shelf. These diy wood pallet jar wall hangings are way easier to make, so that’s a good thing.
I used some of my old canning jars for this too, that also helps save on the cost of this project. Feel free to do the same, let us stick to re-purposing since we are already doing it with the pallet wood. Only one plank from the whole pallet is sufficient to make as many as four of these hangings.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- wood pallet
- mason or canning jars
- hose clamp
- short wood screws
- hand drill
- marker
- tape measure
- table saw
- hacksaw
- sander
- screw driver
- wood paint or stain
- jig saw (optional)
Select and remove the widest piece of wood you can find on your pallet. Measure the wood pallet into equal lengths and then cut it using a table saw or even a simple hacksaw will get the job done. Next, mark and cut out 1 inch pieces off each corner to create rounded edges, which just makes them look prettier.
Use the sander to sand the boards, to give them that rustic look. Mark a spot 4 inches from the top of the board on the center line. Drill the hole, which will attach your hose clamp to the boards at this point. On the back about an inch and a half from the top, you can create drill the keyhole that you will allow you to hang the board to the wall.
Spray your boards with the wood stain. Cut a hole in your hose clamp for the screw and attach the clamp to your board. Insert a jar into your clamp and tighten it with a screw driver until it is secure. Your hangings are ready to be hung on the wall and decorated as you please. I just put small homemade candles in mine. 🙂
