Spicy Pickled Eggs Recipe

Forget scrambled, fried or even poached eggs, for a minute. Oh and then there is the omelette and the boiled eggs too. What else could you make with all those eggs your girls have been laying daily? Have you ever heard of spicy pickled eggs? Well, now you have. LOL

Over the years, I have run into a lot of different egg recipes. However, none has excited me as much as this one. It maybe that, I am slowly becoming a hardcore fan of everything pickled. This old fashioned method will take a little more than half an hour of your time. With eggs being the main ingredient, you are assured that this will be a healthy protein packed snack.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

The eggs will need to be boiled first, before you can pickle them. Most of us have boiled eggs, at some point in our lives. That should not be a problem at all. I just discovered though that adding a little vinegar or baking soda, can help make it easier to peel your eggs. Just remember to allow them to cool first, before removing the shells.

The toothpicks are used to prick your eggs, and make tiny holes that will allow the liquid to sip in. Pack your jars with the eggs, then place the jalapenos on top, before filling up with the hot pickling liquid. The jar must cool down first before you can shut it. The pickling process takes about a week in your fridge, after which you can enjoy the eggs or store them for a month or so.
