Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • old large HD tv
  • screwdriver
  • plywood
  • wood screws or nails
  • hand drill
  • circular saw

Dismantle the tv, removing the screen and keeping any other parts such as the speakers, the reflection, castor wheels, power cord for your future diy projects.

The screen will have three layers plexiglass on the front, vertical lined plastic in the middle and the back is the fresnel lens that you need for this project. The crystal clear one that focuses to a point is the best option.

A Fresnel lens is basically a giant magnifying glass, and can produce temperatures as high as 2000 degrees F. Be careful this solar cooker generates a lot of heat that can start fires instantly. It is recommended you build the frame too, to make it easier to handle this solar cooker.
