Move over boring ole’ traditional salsa, there is a new flavor in town. LOL. I think sometime back I showed you how to make this fresh mango salsa recipe and this fermented pineapple salsa recipe, right? If you have already tried those and loved them, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t try this sweet and spicy peach salsa canning recipe.
Trust me, you always want a variety of salsa recipes at your disposal. That way you can always experiment with different flavors, when you decide to make your salsa. For example, not only is this one sweet & peachy, it is also a little spicy. It’s not too spicy though, actually you determine how hot you want it to be when you select the type of peppers you want to use. Oh and by the way, dust off that water bath canner, you are going to need it today, for this one.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- peaches
- tomatoes
- chili peppers
- red onion
- garlic
- distilled white vinegar
- bottled lime juice
- chili pepper flakes
- sea salt
- sharp knife
- cutting board
- large stock pot
- canning jars
- canning utensils
- water bath canner
- kitchen towel
Well the first part of the recipe involves prepping the veggies. Make sure you wash them thoroughly and then you can move on to peeling, dicing and even pitting the peaches. Making the salsa is as easy as dumping all the ingredients into the stock pot, bringing it to a low boil and the letting it boil for at least 10 minutes.
When the salsa is ready, you can the stuff it into your jars. Don’t forget to wipe the rims before screwing on the lids. The water bath canner does the rest of the work. After which you can lift out the jars and leave them to sit on the kitchen counter or table, preferably overnight. Most of the jars should be sealed by morning, store them away in a cool dry place.
