Instead of using mayonnaise, why don’t you try this homemade creamy garlic aioli on your sandwiches, fries, burgers or even as a dip? It’s super easy to whip up just like this homemade tzatziki sauce recipe, this homemade muesli recipe and this homemade soy sauce recipe. Not only is it dairy free, it is also 100% gluten free.
When you do a quick search on this blog, you’ll find hundreds of other easy to make homemade recipes. It’s no secret that I love the simple stuff. LOL. For instance, this recipe takes up 5 minutes of your time and requires 5 ingredients only. Better yet, you have plenty of seasoning options from tarragon, chipotle chili powder, seeded jalapeño pepper and even roasted garlic.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- large egg
- fresh lemon juice
- garlic cloves
- canola oil
- extra virgin olive oil
- kosher salt
- ground black pepper
- large mixing bowl
- whisk
- blender
- food processor (optional)
- immersion blender (optional)
I prefer to use the blender when making this aioli because it allows me to process the egg, garlic, lemon juice and canola oil all at once. I then transfer the thick and smooth mixture from the blender into a large mixing bowl and begin to slowly whisk in the olive oil.
I have since discovered that the best way to add the olive oil is at a rate of two to three drops at a time. This ensures that it mixes in well with the other ingredients. Lastly, add a little salt and pepper to season, before serving or storing for later use in an air tight container in your fridge.
