Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • plastic soda bottle
  • soap
  • utility knife
  • scissors
  • scrub brush
  • hand drill
  • drill bit

The size of the soda bottle you use will depend on the size of your hanging basket or container. Make sure you remove any labels by using the scrubbing brush or soaking the bottle in warm water.

You want to cut the bottom of the bottle off about 2 inches from the bottom. Then drill four holes about 2 inches from the top which must be screwed on. For long term use submerging the whole bottle in the soil will give a better look. Otherwise you can just submerge up to just above the holes. Fill bottle with water and enjoy your new diy drip irrigation system.
