DIY Old Jeans Slippers

Here’s an excellent way to upcycle those old jeans and give them new life, instead of throwing them away. Just like with the diy upcycled lamp side table, the diy magnetic spice jars and the diy picture frame tiered tray we completed in previous posts. However, in today’s post we will be exploring how to turn your old jeans into slippers.

This is my first jean upcycling project and it was indeed a lot of fun. It is not super complicated especially if you know your way around a sewing machine. Apparently the slippers are a bit more comfy if you use old stretchy jeans. The best way to determine the perfect fit is to use the insoles of any of your other shoes, when tracing out your patterns. An even better option would be to actually sew those insoles into the bottom of your slippers.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Having a pair of insoles available makes it easier for you to trace out the pattern, just don’t forget to account for about 1/4″ for the seam allowance. When sewing your slippers, it is easier to start with the back first and once that is complete you can then move on to the upper section. There is still the sides to cut and sew on before you can truly say that your new slippers are ready to be worn.
