DIY Mixing Tub Hay Feeder

Quick question for you? How many different ways are they to feed a goat? Well, if you are asking me the answer is…plenty! Judging from the many different types of feeders I have gone through the number of years. There was the diy plastic drum goat hay feeder, the diy wood pallet goat hay feeder and even this diy square bale goat hay feeder. Well, today we will add yet another one into the mix. It is the diy cement mixing tub hay feeder.

Although I mentioned goats in the opening paragraph, I do not see why other livestock such as sheep could not use this as well. It is surely worth a try. The one in the picture is built using a cement mixing tub, however I think any type of container (a decent size of course) can be used in place of the tub. Look around the homestead see what you can find and repurpose. If you are going to purchase all the materials from your local hardware store, total cost for this project should be less than $15.
