DIY Day Bed

It’s not always hard work all day long on the homestead. Some days we do get some free time to just relax and have me time. I have built these diy hammock stand, this diy outdoor cabana lounge and this diy wooden outdoor sofa for this purpose. I am also looking at building this diy day bed, to relax in whilst reading a book.

I love that this project can be made from reclaimed wood. This helps make it a little more affordable. I have to say from looking at the plans, it does look like a manageable diy project. The size and dimensions can be easily adjusted based on the amount of space you have available. There is a little corner in the house, that would be a perfect fit for this bed.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

The first thing I am going to do, is pull out the tape measure to capture the dimensions of that little corner. Once that is complete, we can move on to trying to figure out the size of the day bed itself. Building the bed frame should be done first, then the top, the cushion and finally the cushion cover. You could make a few extra covers, which you can easily change for a new look.
