Trying to eat healthy is a daily battle in most households. Over the years I have realized that switching manufactured snacks with healthy homemade ones, is one of the easiest ways to try stay healthy. That is why I have shared how to make homemade fruit snacks and how to make homemade granola bars in previous blog posts. You can now add this cinnamon apple chips recipe to the list too.
If I am being honest homemade healthy snacks, are actually often tastier than those that you would buy in the grocery store. Can you imagine with just two extra ingredients, you can turn those apples into a delicious snack. You won’t be needing your food dehydrator for this one, since you’ll be using your oven. It will take about 3 hours to make these, although prep time is only 15 minutes.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- McIntosh apples
- ground cinnamon
- granulated sugar
- cooking spray
- large bowl
- baking sheet
- air tight container
After thoroughly washing, peeling, core-ing and slicing your apples, you are ready to begin the drying. Since we will be using the oven for making these chips, the first order of business is to preheat the oven. You will coat the apples in the bowl, before transferring to the baking sheet. I like mine on the drier side, therefore I leave them in the oven for about 3 hours.
