Watermelon Chips Recipe

Watermelons are sweet and juicy when fresh, and I usually make a huge mess when it comes to eating them. This summer I will try dehydrate some fresh from the garden using this watermelon chips recipe I found online.

If you do not have watermelons in your garden, you can get some from a Farmer’s Market. Just make sure you use a good tasting ripe watermelon, for the best chips.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • fresh ripe watermelon
  • knife
  • food dehydrator

Initially cutting the watermelon into halves and then quarters, makes it easier to slice them into strips. The rind  and the seeds should also be removed before the dehydration process can begin.

The drying process takes between 8 to 16 hours, it all depends on how dry you want your watermelon chips. This is also a great way to preserve your watermelons, and enjoy them way past the summer.
