Pickled Garlic Recipe

When it comes to garlic, we usually just harvest it and store it in our cold room. However, over the years I have learnt how to make garlic powder, and that also helps save a lot of space. Yet another way to preserve it for the long term is by using this pickled garlic recipe.

So what exactly is pickled garlic? Well, imagine if you already love pickles, you will probably like garlic done the same way. Essentially, after you have completed the whole process the harsh garlic flavor will no longer exist and you are left with a more subtle palatable flavor.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Fire up your stove and place your large saucepan with the vinegar, water and canning salt. Allow to boil for at least 10 minutes. While this is happening you can fill your jars with the garlic, leaving only half an inch of head space. Then you can add the red pepper flakes as well as one head of dill.

Ladle the hot pickling juice you made in the saucepan into the jars. Any air bubbles must be removed, before you wipe the rips with a paper towel and screw on the lids. Process the jars for at least 10 minutes. Extract the jars with your jar lifter, and leave them to cool and seal on your kitchen counter overnight or for at least 12 hours.
