How To Make Powdered Milk Cheese

Ok, I know I am not the only one out there that was not aware that you can make cheese from powdered milk. Every single day I run into new methods and techniques that amaze me, and this one is definitely  one of them. I must admit it is nice to know that one can still enjoy cheese, even when they do not have access to fresh milk. As far as the taste is concerned, I can not comment as of right now. Powdered milk usually does not taste as good as fresh milk, so one could assume the cheese would have a similar taste. Nevertheless, it is still cheese and it’s easy to make!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Powdered Milk
  • Water
  • Cooking Pot
  • White Vinegar or Lemon Juice
  • Cheesecloth or Clean Cotton T-Shirt
  • cooking themometer
  • Measuring jug

When you try this for the first time, it is recommended that you scale down the amount of ingredients you use. Master the art first before wasting your powdered milk. As you can see the recipe only requires a few ingredients, and the whole process is not complicated at all. Mix the milk and the water in your pot, warm up the mixture before adding your vinegar. The curds will begin to form, and when all formed, all you have to do is strain the curds from the whey using your cheese cloth. This recipe makes paneer style cheese and not ricotta.
