How To Freeze Fresh Broccoli

What to do with all that extra fresh broccoli from your garden? Here’s an idea… how about freezing your fresh broccoli and storing it in your freezer?

It is actually a very simple process, that takes less than 5 minutes of your time.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • fresh broccoli
  • large pot
  • water
  • large bowl
  • ice water
  • cookie sheet
  • ziploc freezer bags (optional)

Wash and clean your fresh broccoli before you begin the ‘freezing’ process. Don’t forget that the time spent in the boiling water is the exact same time spent in the ice water.

Allow 1 to 2 hours for the initial freeze. I would just use Ziploc bags for long term storage, unzip grab as much as I need to use and zip it and store the bag back in the freezer.
