How To Build A Birdhouse

I was sitting outside on the porch earlier on looking out into the wooded area of our homestead, when something hit me. No it wasn’t a big ole brick or rock. It just occurred to me that we have always been concentrating on looking after our chickens, but had completely forgotten their cousins. That’s how I got the brilliant idea to build a bird house.

I knew I wanted some very simple plans, as this was not going to be a project that took more than an hour. Also I was set on using materials that I could find around the homestead, except when there was absolutely no alternative. I think I hit the nail on the head with the plans I found.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

The first thing, you want to do is measure and cut out all the pieces you will need. Photos, diagrams and measurements are provided just follow those. Then you want to drill the hole in the middle of the front piece.

With all the pieces cut out, it is time to assemble them. Nail the sides together, and make sure you leave one side on hinges, so that you can open that side. The roof is the last thing that goes on. If you are going to hand this from a tree, they you will also have to attach the wire to hand it from. I think next, we’ll build a bird feeder. Stay tuned! 🙂
