Honey Packed Peaches Recipe

Here is another great peaches canning recipe for you. The honey packed peaches recipe substitutes sugar with honey. I would think that this is a healthier recipe to use for your syrup, as honey is all natural ingredient. However, unless you are keeping bees and making your own honey, this option could be a little more expensive.

As with all things organic or natural. It is recommended that you choose lighter colored honey, as it has a milder flavor. Did you know that there are over 300 varieties of honey in the United States alone? I didn’t either.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • water
  • lemon juice
  • peaches
  • honey
  •  vanilla extract
  • lemon zest strips
  • 2 small saucepans
  • canning kettle or large pot
  • glass jars with lids

You start off with a mixture of lemon juice and water. Then you add the peaches. In another saucepan, you mix the honey and water mixture allowing it to boil. That mixture is then then set aside too, covered to keep the heat contained within.

The next process is packing the fruit into jars, before screwing on the lids and placing into your canning kettle. This same recipe can be used for nectarines and apricots.
