Homemade Thai Sweet Chili Sauce

When you live out here, you cannot just go out and have Thai food for dinner. I am not complaining just stating a fact. So my solution to this has been to learn how to make some Thai food in my own kitchen. Last month I discovered this amazing homemade thai sweet chili sauce, that I just have to share with you.

The recipe itself is super simple, with chopping time included you would only need about 15 minutes. There is only 5 ingredients needed as listed below. What kind of things can you use this sauce on? Well, you can use it as a dip, in stir fries, shrimp as well as for glazing your pork, chicken, seafood, grilled veggies and even pork.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • fresh garlic
  • red chili peppers
  • sugar
  • water
  • white vinegar
  • salt
  • cornstarch
  • water
  • food processor
  • medium saucepan
  • small bowl
  • canning jars

Get started by chopping the red chili peppers in the food processor. Then you can add all the ingredients in the saucepan and bringing to a boil. Then you turn the heat down and allow the sauce to simmer for up to 5 minutes. If you like your sauce spicy, leave the seeds in the red chili peppers.

In order to thicken the sauce, you have to mix the cornstarch with water in a small bowl, and then add that to the sauce mixture. Clean your jars well, before stuffing the sauce into the jars. The best place to store this sauce will be in your fridge. Opps, I almost forgot to mention this sauce is gluten free too.
