Homemade Rustic Crackers Recipe

Here is another one of those recipes I just felt I had to share, especially after making another batch earlier this afternoon. These are not like the homemade bagels I have posted before, but they are just as delish. Are you ready for this homemade rustic crackers recipe?

They are simple to bake and you can even flavor them with whatever toppings you choose. Not to mention I can then eat them with my homemade chevre cheese or any other dipping. I love that you can use basically any herbs or spices as toppings, from fresh rosemary to sesame seeds or even poppy seeds.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • flour
  • olive oil
  • water
  • baking powder
  • salt
  • various toppings
  • egg wash
  • mixing bowl
  • rolling pin
  • baking sheet
  • damp dish towel
  • sharp knife or pizza cutter

Before you begin preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Measure out and add all your dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Mix them well together before adding the olive oil and water to make a dough. If like me you are not a fan of kneading the dough, then you will be happy to know that you do not have to knead this dough.

Roll out thinly on a baking sheet, before brushing with egg wash and adding your favorite toppings. I use a sharp knife to cut out the crackers, but if you have a pizza cutter you can use that. Let them bake in the oven for between 10 to 12 minutes. They are ready when crispy and golden. Let cool before enjoying.
