Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

I know, I know there has been a lot of pumpkin related posts in the last few weeks. It’s not my fault though, blame it on the season. Besides a lot of people enjoyed the posts on the homemade montreal steak spice and the homemade hamburger seasoning That too was motivation to add this one on how to make your own pumpkin pie spice.

The smart budget savvy people, know that when you make your own homemade versions, you always end up saving quite a bit. The required ingredients should already be sitting and waiting for you to whip up your own spice. This is one of those recipes, where you can just adjust the quantities of the ingredients based on your personal preferences.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 pinches ground cardamon
  • microplane (optional)
  • motar & pestle (optional)
  • small bowl
  • airtight container

Alright, now for the super complicated instructions. LOL. It will be a whole lot easier & faster  if you have your spices already ground. However, if not just simply use your motar & pestle and happily grind away. Then all you have to do is, measure out all the spices into a small bowl and mix well with a spoon. Voila, you are done. Store in an airtight container, for up to a year in a cool and dry place.
