Homemade Pesto Sauce Recipe

So earlier this year I discovered how to make my basil plants bushier, which meant that I ended up with a lot of basil. Some of it will be frozen and the rest dried for later use. Another great way to preserve your basil is to make this homemade pesto sauce recipe.

This is a super simple recipe, which basically calls for all the ingredients to be blended together. There is no cooking or baking required. I understand that if you grow other herbs, you can add them into the sauce too. This way you can make your own unique version of pesto sauce.

How To Make Your Own Pesto Sauce

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Simply add all the ingredients except for the basil into your food processor and blend them together until they become smooth. Then you add the basil leaves and process until you have a smooth mixture. Voila, you have just made your pesto sauce.

There are many different uses for pesto sauce. For example, you can use it as a sauce over your pasta or pasta salad. It also goes well over your meat or on bruschetta. For those who don’t fancy tomatoes, replace pizza sauce with some pesto sauce on their pizza. Stores well in an air tight container in your freezer.
