Homemade Peanut Butter Recipe

In a previous post we looked at how to grow peanut in your home garden. Today I was making some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, when I ended up looking up a homemade peanut butter recipe.

Surprisingly enough, it is not difficult to make peanut butter. You only need one ingredient, a food processor and 5 minutes. No salt, no preservatives, nothing.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • shelled roasted unsalted peanuts
  • food processor or blender
  • mason jar with lid
  • spoon or spatula (optional)

The first step of the process involves using the pulsing motion and the metal blade to crush the peanuts for about a minute or two. Then for 3 minutes, you process the chopped nuts until they become peanut butter.

Sometimes the peanut butter may come out dry or not smooth, simply process for a few more minutes until you get your desired consistency. Store in an air tight jar in your fridge for about 4 weeks.
