Homemade Pancake Syrup Recipe

I love making pancakes for breakfast, and for the longest while now I have been using a secret family recipe for the syrup. It is homemade just like the homemade chocolate syrup and homemade taco seasoning , so you already know it has that wholesome goodness. So are you ready for the homemade pancake syrup recipe?

This is a very simple recipe that takes less than 10 minutes to whip up. Most of the ingredients are readily available in most kitchens. You can even use your own homemade vanilla extract, which is what I personally do. At least you do not have to worry about any chemical preservatives in your syrup, you know exactly what’s inside.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple flavouring
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • medium saucepan
  • wooden spoon
  • squeeze bottle or container

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1

Combine your sugars, corn syrup and water in saucepan and bring everything to a boil on medium heat.

Step 2

Let the mixture boil for at least 7 minutes or until
it begins to thicken just slightly.

Step 3

Remove your saucepan from the heat, before
stirring in your maple flavouring & vanilla extract

Step 4

Allow everything to cool for at least 15 minutes
before serving over your pancakes.

Step 5

Once cool, the syrup is ready to be served.

This homemade syrup can also be served over your waffles and french toast. If you need more for your family you can simply double or triple the ingredients. Store any leftovers in your refrigerator, in a squeeze bottle or an air tight container, maybe even a mason jar.
