Homemade Natural Deodorant Recipe

There are a few things that we use on a daily basis that we naturally buy from stores, but have never thought to try make ourselves at home. Ever since I started this blog I have have tackled quite a few from the homemade sunscreen lotion recipe to homemade natural dish soap recipe. Today I ran into this homemade natural deodorant recipe.

Unlike the store bought versions, this one is all natural and does not contain any chemicals or compounds that can be harmful to your skin. Even better is that most of the ingredients can be found in any home kitchen, so you can whip it up almost on demand. The recipe itself is very simple too.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • baking soda
  • cornstarch
  • coconut oil
  • essential oils
  • empty deodorant tube
  • whisk
  • small bowl

Take your two dry ingredients and mix them together well using a whisk. Then you can gradually add your coconut oil, and continue whisking until you have a smooth paste. Finally you add your essential oil, so far I too like lavendar, but you are free to experiment with any of your favorite oils.

Your glue like mixture, should be carefully poured into the empty deodorant tube and then placed into the fridge so that it can solidify. At room temperature it becomes creamy and is easy to apply, if it starts to melt just return it to your fridge. And there you go, you just made your own deodorant! 🙂
