Homemade Maple Syrup Recipe

Who says you actually need maple sap in order to enjoy some maple syrup? I know we have made some homemade pancake syrup before, but sometimes I like to switch things up. I found this homemade maple syrup recipe, in the family recipes binder a few years back.

This recipe only requires four ingredients, which you can find in any kitchen. The flavored extract, you may have to stock up on. You only use a tablespoon at a time, so it should last you a while. Let us not even talk about how easy this syrup is to make, are you ready?

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple flavored extract
  • saucepan
  • empty squeeze bottle or mason jar

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1:

Bring your water, brown and white sugar to
a boil in a saucepan on medium heat.

Step 2:

Reduce your heat and add your maple extract.
Stir to mix all the ingredients well.

Step 3:

Leave to simmer for another 3 minutes.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool.

Once your syrup has cooled, you can use it on your pancakes etc. If you have any leftover syrup you can store it in an empty squeeze bottle or mason jar with a lid. Although you can keep it your fridge, I personally like to store it in our cool pantry. Enjoy! 🙂
