Homemade Ketchup From Fresh Tomatoes Recipe

I have nothing against Heinz and the ketchup we have all gotten used to purchasing in the stores. Actually it had never occurred to me that I could pick fresh tomatoes from my garden and make my own homemade ketchup.

Then a friend sent me this recipe and it opened my eyes, to the wonderful new world of fresh tasty ketchup. Surprisingly enough it is pretty easy to prepare and does not take to long either.

These are the ingredients you will need: onions, celery, ginger, garlic, chili pepper, red peppers, olive oil, tomatoes, wine vinegar, ground black pepper and brown sugar.

As far as utensils are concerned you will need a large saucepan, some sort of blender, food processor, immersion blender, a sieve and a jar to store the ketchup once it is ready. Preparation time is about 15 minutes. Cooking time is about 45 minutes.
