Homemade Greek Yogurt Recipe

We have discussed making normal homemade yogurt before, in a post a couple months back. Today I decided to try making homemade greek style yogurt recipe, and had a lot of fun doing it.

Apparently one of the major differences between the two types of yogurts is the amount of liquid. Greek yogurt tends to have far less liquid than the regular type.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • whole milk plain yogurt (loaded with probiotics)
  • mesh colander
  • paper towel or cheese cloth
  • medium sized bowl
  • spoon
  • container with lid

What I love about this recipe is you do not need milk, you just use regular yogurt. However, waiting a whole night while the yogurt sits and separates in the paper tower lined mesh colander never gets any easier.

The experts say the homemade version is a lot tangier than the store one. If you want to store your yogurt for later, simply spoon it into a covered container and place in your fridge.

Linda loves to add some dried fruit to hers, and she shares that easy recipe as well on on her blog too.
