Homemade Febreze Recipe

Oh boy, homemade Febreze, whaaaat? I too had that puzzled look on my face when I first ran into this one. However, I calmly clicked on to  find out the ‘real’ truth behind this homemade brew. Hmmmmm, after reading through the recipe, I was even more excited because I had all these ingredients right here in my home. So off to the laundry room, I skipped to get the main ingredient. Then from there headed to the kitchen island, which would serve as my laboratory for this experiment (and many others).

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1/8 Cup of fabric softener (I used Downy April Fresh)
  • 2 tablespoons Baking Soda
  • Hot tap water
  • Spray bottle

For the spray bottle, any empty spray bottle will work. You could even use an old Febreze bottle. He he heee. I used an old all purpose cleaner spray bottle. Ahaaaa, got it right on the first try and yes, it works almost just as good as the real thing. The biggest advantage of course is the cost, THE Febreze costs $4 plus a bottle. The preparation involves just mixing up the ingredients and giving the bottle a good shake. This special home version, only about 15 cents. Happy wallet, Happy life! 🙂

I found the recipe on the Love, Family, Love, blog here….
