You know when you go out to those fancy restuarants and just before the appetizers come, they either serve yopu some bread or rolls? Well now you can do the same with your own dinners at home. All you need is this homemade dinner rolls recipe.

If you have an electric food processor or mixer, then bring it on out and save yourself some time and energy. Do not despair if all you have is the hands God gave you, you can still knead the dough the old fashioned way. This recipe requires very few ingredients but will make delicious pillow soft and very tender rolls.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • warm water
  • active dry yeast
  • granulated sugar
  • whole milk
  • salted butter
  • large egg
  • salt
  • all purpose flour
  • liquid measuring cup
  • whisk
  • electric stand mixer
  • whisk attachment
  • dough hook attachment
  • large mixing bowl
  • plastic wrap
  • rolling pin
  • cookie sheet
  • cooking brush

As mentioned above this easy recipe was written for someone with an electric stand mixer, just use your whisk and a mixing bowl if you do not have one to mix the ingredients. The yeast mixture is the main component as helps the dough rise, so make sure you get this right to avoid having flat dinner rolls.

A little patience is required when waiting for the dough to rise, it is easy to just shorten the time but you will pay when you pull your rolls out of the oven. The twisting of the dough was a little confusing at first but once I figured it out I was unstoppable. This recipe makes 24 homemade dinner rolls, we always have a lot leftover. We freeze them and store them in the freezer, in an air tight container.
