You can use this to make any cream of something soups e.g. cream of mushroom soup. It is just a matter of adding a half cup of finely diced meats or vegetables.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup main ingredient, diced (mushrooms, chicken, celery etc)
  • 1/4 cup butter or substitute
  • 1/4 cup flour or substitute
  • 1 cup milk or substitute
  • 3/4 cup broth

The recipe is simple and can be adopted to make any soup by consulting the SOUP BASE table for any substitutes to suit your dietary needs and also the MAIN INGREDIENT table for the same.

Preparation time is about 15 to 20 minutes. Makes the equivalent of 1 can of condensed soup or just about one and a half cups. Can be stored in a mason jar for up to 4 days or otherwise freeze in a labelled zip lock bags and thaw when needed.
