Homemade Cough and Cold Syrup

When winter shows up, not only does the gardening slow down or completely stop, but you are more likely to suffer from a cold or cough during this time. I am not really a fan of over the counter cough syrups, I usually turn to natural cures like this homemade cough and cold syrup.

The four natural ingredients used to make the syrups are scientifically proven to help your body fight your cold or cough. They are also easily available and the syrup itself is so easy to make in just a few minutes.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • raw honey
  • coconut oil
  • fresh lemon
  • cinnamon
  • small bowl
  • mason jar

As I already mentioned above, this natural remedy is very easy to make. Simply mix all the ingredients well in a small bowl or container. Your honey should be raw, so do not heat it or it will lose most of its healing properties and be useless.

Store in an air tight container or mason jar. As for usage directions, start to take 1 or 2 teaspoons of the homemade syrup, at least 3 times daily as soon as your symptoms surface. Although all natural, this syrup should NOT be given to children less than 1 year old. Go ahead try it for yourself the next time you have a cold or a cough.
