Growing Sweet Potatoes In Containers

Sometimes we try complicate things when they should not really be. Today I discovered that you could grow sweet potatoes in containers, with pretty much no effort at all.

With this method you can go ahead and use nubs from old sweet potatoes. You do not need slips or seed potatoes. When you discover how easy this method is you will literally kick yourself like I did.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • sweet potatoes nubs
  • plastic tub or tote
  • recycled organic soil

There is no special way to plant the sweet potato nubs, she just tossed them into the plastic tub and covered with the soil. If you do not have ‘recycled soil’ you could perhaps use potting soil and compost.

After you water your container, you can expect to see some growth within 7 days. Little effort is required when it comes to looking after the plants. Just keep the container well watered and tuck in any vines that may start to creep out of the container.
