DIY Wood Pallet Solar Shower

Take advantage of the free energy from the sun to heat your shower. This diy solar shower made from pallets, will help you do just that. Of course, in order for the sun to be able to heat your shower, it has to be an outside shower. Those of us who are shy to clean themselves outside, this may not be a great idea after all.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • recycled wood pallets
  • old water heater tank
  • black hose
  • garden hose
  • old glass box
  • connection valves
  • shower head
  • tools

Before you can begin building your outdoor shower, all but one or two of the wood pallets have to be dismantled. They will be put together to build the four outer walls. The ones left intact are used for the bottom of the shower.

As long as the sun is shinning and the tank is full, the water will automatically circulate within the system. The old tank should be placed above the level of the glass box with your coiled black hose. You can refill the water in the tank using a garden hose.

I love that not only does this shower harness the sun’s energy, it also recycles old wood pallets. That doubles up the sustainability factor. Love it! 🙂
