DIY Wood Pallet Planter Box

Oh, oh it is time for another wood pallet project are you ready? I know I have been featuring a lot of those lately from the diy wood pallet bed and diy wood pallet end table. Well the truth is, I saw this diy wood pallet planter box and I wanted it.

It sucks that this is one of those wood pallet projects that you have to first dismantle the wood pallets, but at least we can get them for free. Just make sure you get pallets that have a lot of useable wood for this project. This box will look great on any patio or even side the house.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • wood pallets
  • jig or circular saw
  • course sandpaper
  • wood nails
  • wood glue
  • red oak stain
  • outdoor urethane

As already mentioned the first step is dismantling the wood pallets. The jigsaw is perfect for this job, make sure you pry the boards out and remove all the nails from the slats too. I used the downloadable plans provided to cut the boards for the planter box.

The sandpaper is used to smoothen out any of the rough spots. The top frame is assembled first and the bottom platform next, using both the wood glue and the nails. The side trims attaches to the upper sides and then the top trim. It is recommended that you sand and stain your planter box to finish it off.
