It is funny but up to this day I still get amazed and excited with some of the things you can make from wood pallets. For example remember when we looked at the diy wood pallet living wall, the diy wood pallet canning pantry or even the diy wood pallet farmhouse table. It gets even more exciting when you can build something as essential as this diy wood pallet bed with storage drawers.

Wood pallets are fun to use for diy projects as they are usually available for free. We get ours from this small factory in the little town close to where we live. Even if you have to purchase them, they are usually very cheap, therefore it makes any project affordable. Plus you get to repurpose materials and save the environment too.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• wood pallets
• 2×2 lumber
• plywood
• crow bar
• wood screws or nails
• handheld drill
• jig saw
• tape measure
• old mattress
• drawer handles
• rope (optional)
• metal framing (optional)

The measurements for your bed are based on the mattress you are going to use. We took a queen size one from an old bed. Then after the long and tedious task of dismantling the wood pallets, we began by building the headboard. The bed fram came next, do not forget to mark out the area under the bed where the drawers will slide into.

Two pallet tables with metal framing will hold your mattress in place. These fill up the space in the center of the bed. Lastly, you take some time to build your storage drawers, two large ones that span the length of the bed should do the trick. Attach some handles to allow you to pull open the drawers, we just attached some old rope.
